城的基础是纯金，表征神的神圣性情；这是为着神圣行政之宝座的稳固根基；从宝座这荣耀的中心，产生出由城的街道所表征之神与人的交通，达到城的所有十二个门。

城门是珍珠，表征基督救赎并释放生命之死，以及祂分赐生命之复活分泌的结果。

城墙及其根基是宝石，由那灵借着祂变化并建造的工作所终极完成。

The New Jerusalem is the greatest and the ultimate sign in the Scriptures, signifying an organic constitution of the processed Triune God mingled with His regenerated, Transformed, and glorified tripartite elect.

Its base is pure gold, signifying the divine nature of God; it is the solid foundation of its throne for the divine administration, which is the glorious center from which proceeds the divine and human communication, signified by its street, to reach all its twelve gates.

Its gates are pearls, signifying the issue of the secretion of Christ's redeeming and life－releasing death and His life－dispensing resurrection.

Its wall and its foundations are precious stones, consummated by the Spirit through His transforming and building work.
