14:1 The wise woman builds her house, But the foolish one tears it down with her own hands.

14:2 He who walks in his uprightness fears Jehovah, But he who is perverse in his ways despises Him.
行动正直的,敬畏耶和华;行事乖僻的,却藐视祂。
14:3 In the mouth of a fool is a rod for his pride, But the lips of the wise will preserve them.
愚妄人口中骄傲,如杖责打己身;智慧人的嘴必保守自己。
14:4 Where no oxen are, the manger is clean, But much increase comes by the strength of the ox.
家里无牛,槽头干净;但出产加多,乃凭牛力。
14:5 A faithful witness will not lie, But a false witness utters lies.
忠信的见证人不说谎话;假见证人吐出谎言。
14:6 A scoffer seeks wisdom and finds none, But knowledge comes easily to one who has understanding.
亵慢人寻找智慧,却寻不着;聪明人轻易得着知识。
14:7 Go from the presence of a foolish man, For you will not perceive in him the lips of knowledge.
当离开愚昧人的面,因为你不见他嘴中有知识。
14:8 The wisdom of the prudent man is to understand his way, But the folly of fools is deceit.
精明人的智慧在乎明白自己的道路;愚昧人的愚妄乃是诡诈。
14:9 A trespass offering mocks fools, But among the upright there is good will.
赎愆祭讥诮愚妄人,正直人却互相喜悦。
14:10 The heart knows its own bitterness, And a stranger does not share in its joy.
心中的苦楚自己知道,心里的喜乐外人无分。
14:11 The house of the wicked will be destroyed, But the tent of the upright will flourish.
奸恶人的房屋必倒毁;正直人的帐棚必兴盛。
14:12 There is a way which seems right to a man, But the end of it is the ways of death.
有一条路,人以为正,至终却是死亡之路。
14:13 Even in laughter the heart is sorrowful, And the end of joy is grief.
人在喜笑中,心也伤痛;快乐至极就是愁苦。
14:14 The backslider in heart will be filled with his own ways, And a good man will be satisfied from himself.
心中退后的,必饱得自己行径的结果;善人必从自己得满足。
14:15 The simple man believes every word, But the prudent man considers his steps.
愚蒙人凡话都信;精明人步步慎思。
14:16 A wise man fears and departs from evil, But the fool is arrogant and is confident.
智慧人惧怕,就远离恶事;愚昧人却狂傲自恃。
14:17 He who is quick to anger will deal foolishly, And a man of wicked devices is hated.
急躁易怒的,行事愚昧;设诡计的,被人恨恶。
14:18 The simple inherit folly, But the prudent are crowned with knowledge.
愚蒙人得愚妄为产业;精明人得知识为冠冕。
14:19 The evil bow down before the good, And the wicked, at the gates of the righteous man.
坏人俯伏在善人面前,恶人俯伏在义人门口。
14:20 The poor man is hated even by his own neighbor, But the rich man has many friends.
贫穷人连邻舍也恨他;富足人有许多朋友。
14:21 He who despises his neighbor sins, But happy is he who is gracious to the poor.
藐视邻舍的,这人有罪;恩待贫穷的,这人快乐。
14:22 Do not they who devise evil go astray? But lovingkindness and truth are with those who devise good.
谋恶的,岂非走入迷途么?谋善的,必得慈爱和真实。
14:23 In all labor there is profit, But mere talk leads only to poverty.
诸般劳苦必有利益;嘴上徒言乃致穷乏。
14:24 The crown of the wise is their riches, But the folly of fools is only folly.
智慧人的冠冕乃是他们的财富;愚昧人的愚妄终是愚妄。
14:25 A truthful witness delivers souls, But he who utters lies causes deceit.
作真见证的,救人性命;吐出谎言的,施行诡诈。
14:26 In the fear of Jehovah is strong confidence, And his children will have a place of refuge.
敬畏耶和华的,有坚固的倚靠,他的儿女也有避难所。
14:27 The fear of Jehovah is a fountain of life, That one may turn aside from the snares of death.
敬畏耶和华是生命的泉源,可以使人离开死亡的网罗。
14:28 In a multitude of people is the king's glory, But in an absence of people is the ruin of the prince.
帝王荣耀在于民多;君王衰败在于民少。
14:29 He who is slow to anger is of great understanding, But he who has a hasty spirit exalts folly.
不轻易发怒的,大有聪明;灵里暴躁的,大显愚妄。
14:30 A tranquil heart is life to the flesh, But envy is rottenness to the bones.
心中安静是肉体的生命;嫉妒是骨中的朽烂。
14:31 He who oppresses the poor reproaches his Maker, But he who is gracious to the needy honors Him.
欺压贫寒的,是辱没造他的主;恩待穷乏的,乃是尊敬主。
14:32 The wicked man is thrust down in his evildoing, But the righteous man has a refuge when he dies.
恶人在自己的恶行上,必被推倒;义人临死,有所投靠。
14:33 Wisdom rests quietly in the heart of one who has understanding, But in the inward part of fools it makes itself known.
智慧安居在聪明人心中;愚昧人内里所存的,显而易见。
14:34 Righteousness exalts a nation, But sin is a reproach to any people.
公义使邦国高举;罪恶是人民的羞辱。
14:35 The king's favor is toward a servant who acts prudently, But his overflowing wrath will be toward him who causes shame.
