• 38:1　Then Jehovah answered Job out of the whirlwind and said,

  • 38:2　Who is this who darkens counsel By words without knowledge?
  • 谁用无知的言语，使我的旨意暗晦不明？
  • 38:3　Gird up now your loins like a mighty man; For I will ask of you, and you shall inform Me.
  • 你要如勇士束腰；我问你，你可以指示我。
  • 38:4　Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth? Tell Me, if you have understanding.
  • 我立大地根基的时候，你在哪里？你若有聪明，只管告诉我。
  • 38:5　Who set its measurements-if you know? Or who stretched the measuring line over it?
  • 你若晓得就说，是谁定地的尺度？是谁把准绳拉在其上？
  • 38:6　Onto what were its bases sunk, Or who laid its cornerstone,
  • 地的基础置于何物之上？地的角石是谁安放的？
  • 38:7　When the morning stars sang together And all the sons of God shouted for joy?
  • 那时晨星一同歌唱，神的众子也都欢呼。
  • 38:8　And who hedged in the sea with doors When it burst forth, issuing from the womb,
  • 海水冲出，如出胎胞；那时谁用门将海关闭？
  • 38:9　When I made clouds its clothing And deep darkness its swaddling clothes,
  • 是我用云彩当海的衣服，用幽暗当包裹海的布，
  • 38:10　And I broke out My boundaries for it And set up bars and doors,
  • 我为海定界限，又安门和闩，
  • 38:11　And I said, To here you shall come and no farther, And here shall your proud waves be stopped?
  • 说，你只可到这里，不可越过，你狂傲的浪要到此止住。
  • 38:12　Have you ever commanded the morning since your days began? Have you ever caused the dawn to know its place,
  • 你出生的日子以来，曾命定晨光么？你曾使曙光知道本位，
  • 38:13　So that it might take hold of the ends of the earth, And the wicked might be shaken out of it?
  • 叫这光普照地的四极，将恶人从其中抖出来么？
  • 38:14　The earth is changed like clay under a seal, And all things on it stand forth like a garment.
  • 地面改变如泥上盖印；万物出现如衣服一样。
  • 38:15　And from the wicked their light is withheld, And the high arm is broken.
  • 亮光不照恶人，高举的膀臂也必折断。
  • 38:16　Have you entered into the springs of the sea, Or have you walked about in the recesses of the deep?
  • 你曾进到海的泉源，或在深渊的隐密处行走么？
  • 38:17　Have the gates of death been revealed to you, Or have you seen the gates of the shadow of death?
  • 死亡的门，曾向你显露么？死荫的门，你曾见过么？
  • 38:18　Have you comprehended the full expanse of the earth? Declare it, if you know it all.
  • 地的广阔，你能明了么？你若全知道，只管说罢。
  • 38:19　Where is the way to the dwelling of the light? And the darkness, where is its place,
  • 往光之居所的路在哪里？黑暗的本位在何处？
  • 38:20　That you may take it to its boundary, And that you may perceive the paths to its house?
  • 你能把黑暗带到本境，看明达到其屋之路么？
  • 38:21　You know, for you were born then, And the number of your days is great.
  • 你总知道，因为那时你已经出生，你日子的数目也多。
  • 38:22　Have you entered into the storehouses of the snow, Or have you seen the storehouses of the hail,
  • 你曾进入雪库，或见过雹仓么？
  • 38:23　Which I have reserved for the day of calamity, For the day of battle and of war?
  • 这雪雹乃是我为降灾的时候，为打仗和争战的日子所贮存的。
  • 38:24　Where is the way to the place where the light is divided, To the place where the east wind scatters upon the earth?
  • 往光分开之处的路在哪里？往东风在地上分散之处的路在哪里？
  • 38:25　Who cut a channel for the rain torrent, Or a way for the thunderbolt,
  • 谁为大雨分水道，谁为雷电开道路，
  • 38:26　To make it rain on a land where no man is, On a wilderness in which there is no man;
  • 使雨降在无人之地，无人居住的旷野；
  • 38:27　To satisfy the waste and desolate land And to cause the shoots of grass to sprout?
  • 使荒废凄凉之地得着灌溉，青草的嫩苗得以生长？
  • 38:28　Does the rain have a father? Or who begot the drops of dew?
  • 雨有父么？露水珠是谁生的？
  • 38:29　From whose womb does the ice come forth? And the frost of heaven, who gave birth to it?
  • 冰出于谁的胎？天上的霜是谁生的？
  • 38:30　The waters hide themselves and become like stone, And the surface of the deep is frozen.
  • 诸水隐藏，冻结如石头，深渊表面凝结成冰。
  • 38:31　Can you fasten the bands of the Pleiades, Or loosen the cords of Orion?
  • 你能系住昴星的结，解开参星的带么？
  • 38:32　Can you lead forth the Mazzaroth in their season? Or can you guide the Bear with its cubs?
  • 你能按时领出十二宫么？能引导北斗和随它的众星么？
  • 38:33　Do you know the laws of the heavens? Do you establish their rule on the earth?
  • 你知道天的定例么？能在地上建立天的管治么？
  • 38:34　Can you lift up your voice to the clouds, So that a flood of water would cover you?
  • 你能向云彩扬起声来，使充沛的雨水遮盖你么？
  • 38:35　Can you send forth lightnings, so that they would go And say to you, Here we are?
  • 你能打发闪电，叫闪电行去，并且对你说，我们在这里么？
  • 38:36　Who has put wisdom in the inward parts, Or given understanding to the mind?
  • 谁将智慧放在人的怀中，将聪明赐于人的心思？
  • 38:37　Who can number the clouds by wisdom, Or who can tip over the water jars of heaven,
  • 尘、土聚集成团，土块紧紧结连时，谁能用智慧数算云彩？谁能倾倒天上的水瓶？
  • 38:38 When the dust runs into a mass And the clods stick together?

  • 38:39　Can you hunt prey for the lioness, Or satisfy the appetite of the young lions,
  • 狮、子在洞中蹲伏，在丛林里埋伏时，你能为母狮猎取食物，满足少壮狮子的食欲么？
  • 38:40 When they crouch in their dens, When they lie in wait in the thicket?

  • 38:41　Who provides for the raven its prey When its young ones cry out to God And wander about for lack of food?
  • 乌鸦之雏，因无食物飞来飞去，向神呼救时，谁为乌鸦预备食物？
