• 40:1　And Jehovah answered Job and said,
  • 耶和华又回答约伯说，
  • 40:2　Shall one who finds fault contend with the Almighty? Let him who argues with God answer it.
  • 责难的人，岂可与全能者争论？与神辩驳的，可以回答这些罢。
  • 40:3　Then Job answered Jehovah and said,
  • 于是约伯回答耶和华说，
  • 40:4　Indeed, I am worthless. What shall I reply to You? I lay my hand over my mouth.
  • 看哪，我是卑贱的，可用什么回答你呢？我只好用手捂口。
  • 40:5　I have spoken once, and I will not answer; And twice, and I will proceed no further.
  • 我说了一次，再不回答；说了两次，就不再说。
  • 40:6　And Jehovah answered Job out of the whirlwind and said,
  • 于是耶和华从旋风中回答约伯，说，
  • 40:7　Gird up now your loins like a mighty man; For I will ask of you, and you shall inform Me.
  • 你要如勇士束腰；我问你，你可以指示我。
  • 40:8　Will you indeed annul my judgment? Will you condemn Me so that you may be justified?
  • 你岂真要废弃我所审断的？岂可定我有罪，好显自己为义么？
  • 40:9　Or do you have an arm like God's, And can you thunder with a voice like His?
  • 你有神那样的膀臂么？你能以祂那样的声音打雷么？
  • 40:10　Deck yourself now with majesty and excellency, And array yourself with honor and splendor.
  • 你当以威荣尊高为妆饰，以尊荣威严为衣服；
  • 40:11　Pour forth the overflowings of your anger, And look upon everyone who is proud, and abase him.
  • 倒出你满溢的怒气，观看一切骄傲的人，使他们降卑；
  • 40:12　Look upon everyone who is proud; bring him down; And tread down the wicked where they stand.
  • 观看一切骄傲的人，将他们制伏；把恶人践踏在他们所立之处；
  • 40:13　Hide them in the dust together; Bind their faces in the hidden place.
  • 将他们一同隐藏在尘土中，把他们的脸缠裹在隐密处。
  • 40:14　Then even I will praise you, That your own right hand can save you.
  • 这样，我也就称赞你，因你的右手能救自己。
  • 40:15　Behold now the behemoth, which I made as well as you: He eats grass like the ox.
  • 你且观看河马，我造你也造它；它吃草与牛一样。
  • 40:16　Behold now, his strength is in his loins, And his power is in the muscles of his belly.
  • 看哪，它的力量在腰间，能力在肚腹的肌肉上。
  • 40:17　He bends his tail like a cedar; The sinews of his thighs knit together.
  • 它摇动尾巴如香柏树；它大腿的筋互相联结。
  • 40:18　His bones are like bronze tubes; His limbs, like iron bars.
  • 它的骨头好像铜管；它的肢体仿佛铁棍。
  • 40:19　He is the first of God's ways; Only his Maker can approach him with His sword.
  • 它在神的造物中为首；惟有造它的能拿刀剑靠近它。
  • 40:20　For the mountains yield food for him, Where every animal of the field plays.
  • 诸山给它出产食物，田野百兽也在那里游玩。
  • 40:21　Under the lotus plants he lies down, In the covert of the reed and the marsh.
  • 它伏在莲叶之下，卧在芦苇隐密处和沼泽里。
  • 40:22　The lotus plants cover him with their shade; The willows of the brook surround him.
  • 莲叶的阴影遮蔽它，溪旁的柳树环绕它。
  • 40:23　Indeed, if a river overflows, he does not tremble; He is confident, though the Jordan rushes against his mouth.
  • 看哪，河水泛滥，它不战抖；就是约但河的水冲到它口边，它也是安然。
  • 40:24　Will anyone catch him while he is watching, Or pierce his nose with a snare?
  • 在它警觉的时候，谁能捉拿它，或用钩子穿它的鼻子呢？
