- 22:1 And the children of Israel journeyed and encamped in the plains of Moab beyond the Jordan at Jericho.

以色列人起行,在约但河东的摩押平原,对着耶利哥安营。
- 22:2 And Balak the son of Zippor saw all that Israel had done to the Amorites.

以色列人向亚摩利人所行的一切事,西拨的儿子巴勒都看见了。
- 22:3 And Moab was very afraid of the people because they were many, and Moab was distressed because of the children of Israel.

摩押人因以色列民甚多,就极其惧怕,心内忧急,
- 22:4 And Moab said to the elders of Midian, This multitude will now lick up all that is around us, as the ox licks up the grass of the field. Now Balak the son of Zippor was king of Moab at that time.

对米甸的长老说,现在这群众要把我们四围所有的一概舔尽,就如牛舔尽田间的草一般。那时西拨的儿子巴勒作摩押王。
- 22:5 And he sent messengers to Balaam the son of Beor, to Pethor, which is by the River, to the land of the children of his people, to call him, saying, There is a people here who have come out from Egypt; now they cover the surface of the land and have settled over against me.

他差遣使者往大河边的毗夺去,到比珥的儿子巴兰本乡那里,召巴兰来,说,有一民从埃及出来,遮满这地,住在我的对面。
- 22:6 Now, therefore, please come; curse this people for me, since they are mightier than I. Perhaps I may be able to strike them and drive them out of the land, for I know that whomever you bless is blessed and whomever you curse is cursed.

这民比我强盛,现在求你来为我咒诅他们,或者我能击败他们,把他们赶出此地;因为我知道,你为谁祝福,谁就得福;你咒诅谁,谁就受咒诅。
- 22:7 So the elders of Moab and the elders of Midian departed with fees for divination in their hand, and they came to Balaam and spoke to him the words of Balak.

摩押的长老和米甸的长老,手里拿着占卜的礼金,到了巴兰那里,将巴勒的话告诉他。
- 22:8 And he said to them, Spend tonight here, and I will bring back word to you as Jehovah speaks to me. And the rulers of Moab stayed with Balaam.

巴兰说,你们今夜在这里住宿,我必照耶和华所告诉我的回报你们。摩押的首领就在巴兰那里住下了。
- 22:9 And God came to Balaam and said, Who are these men with you?

神临到巴兰那里,说,在你这里的人都是谁?
- 22:10 And Balaam said to God, Balak the son of Zippor, the king of Moab, has sent word to me, saying,
-
巴兰回答说,是摩押王西拨的儿子巴勒打发人到我这里来,说,
- 22:11 There is a people who came out of Egypt, and they cover the surface of the land. Now come; curse them for me; perhaps I will be able to fight against them and drive them out.
-
有一民从埃及出来,遮满了这地;现在求你来,为我咒诅他们,或者我能战胜他们,把他们赶出去。
- 22:12 And God said to Balaam, You shall not go with them; you shall not curse the people, for they are blessed.

神对巴兰说,你不可同他们去,也不可咒诅那民,因为那民是蒙福的。
- 22:13 So Balaam rose up in the morning and said to the rulers from Balak, Go to your land, for Jehovah has refused to let me go with you.

巴兰早晨起来,对巴勒差来的首领说,你们回本地去罢,因为耶和华不许我和你们同去。
- 22:14 And the rulers of Moab rose up and went to Balak and said, Balaam refuses to come with us.
-
摩押的首领就起来,回巴勒那里去,说,巴兰不肯和我们同来。
- 22:15 So Balak yet again sent rulers, more numerous and more honorable than these.

巴勒又差遣首领,比先前的更多更尊贵。
- 22:16 And they came to Balaam and said to him, Thus says Balak the son of Zippor, Please let nothing hinder you from coming to me,

他们到了巴兰那里,对他说,西拨的儿子巴勒这样说,求你不让什么事拦阻你到我这里来,
- 22:17 For I will indeed honor you greatly; and whatever you say to me I will do. Please come therefore; curse this people for me.

因为我必使你得极大的尊荣;你向我说什么,我就去作;只求你来为我咒诅这民。
- 22:18 And Balaam answered and said to the servants of Balak, Even if Balak were to give me his house full of silver and gold, I could not go beyond the word of Jehovah my God, to do less or more.

巴兰回答巴勒的臣仆说,即使巴勒将他满屋的金银给我,我也不可越过耶和华我神的话作事,少作多作都不可。
- 22:19 Now you therefore please stay here tonight also, so that I may know what more Jehovah might speak to me.
-
现在请你们今夜也在这里住宿,等我得知耶和华还要对我说什么。
- 22:20 And God came to Balaam at night and said to him, Since the men have come to call you, rise up; go with them, but only what I speak to you shall you do.
-
当夜,神临到巴兰那里,对他说,这些人既来召你,你就起来同他们去,但你只当遵行我对你所说的话。
- 22:21 And Balaam rose up in the morning and saddled his donkey and went with the rulers of Moab.
-
巴兰早晨起来,备上驴,和摩押的首领一同去了。
- 22:22 And God's anger was kindled because he was going, and the Angel of Jehovah took His stand in the way as an adversary against him. Now he was riding on his donkey, and his two servants were with him.
-
神因他去就发怒;耶和华的使者站在路上抵挡他。他骑着驴,有两个仆人跟随他。
- 22:23 And when the donkey saw the Angel of Jehovah standing in the way with His drawn sword in His hand, the donkey turned aside out of the way and went into the field. And Balaam struck the donkey to turn her back into the way.

驴看见耶和华的使者站在路上,手里有拔出来的刀,就从路上转开,跨进田间;巴兰便打驴,要叫它转回路上。
- 22:24 Then the Angel of Jehovah stood in a narrow path between the vineyards, with a wall on this side and a wall on that side.
-
耶和华的使者就站在葡萄园间的窄路上,这边有墙,那边也有墙。
- 22:25 And when the donkey saw the Angel of Jehovah, she pressed herself against the wall and crushed Balaam's foot against the wall. So he struck her again.
-
驴看见耶和华的使者,就贴靠墙,将巴兰的脚挤伤了;于是巴兰又打驴。
- 22:26 And the Angel of Jehovah went further and stood in a narrow place, where there was no way to turn either to the right or to the left.
-
耶和华的使者又往前去,站在狭窄之处,左右都无路可以转折。
- 22:27 And when the donkey saw the Angel of Jehovah, she lay down under Balaam. Then Balaam's anger was kindled, and he struck the donkey with his staff.

驴看见耶和华的使者,就卧在巴兰底下;巴兰就发怒,用杖打驴。
- 22:28 And Jehovah opened the mouth of the donkey, and she said to Balaam, What have I done to you, that you have struck me these three times?
-
耶和华开了驴的口,驴对巴兰说,我向你行了什么,你竟打我这三次呢?
- 22:29 And Balaam said to the donkey, Because you have mocked me! If I had a sword in my hand, I would have killed you by now.
-
巴兰对驴说,因为你戏弄我,我若手中有刀,早就把你杀了。
- 22:30 And the donkey said to Balaam, Am I not your donkey on which you have ridden all your life to this day? Have I ever been accustomed to do so to you? And he said, No.
-
驴对巴兰说,我不是你从小时直到今日所骑的驴么?我素常向你这样行过么?巴兰说,没有。
- 22:31 Then Jehovah opened the eyes of Balaam, and he saw the Angel of Jehovah standing in the way with His drawn sword in His hand, and he bowed his head and fell on his face.

当时,耶和华开了巴兰的眼,他就看见耶和华的使者站在路上,手里有拔出来的刀,巴兰便低头,面伏于地。
- 22:32 And the Angel of Jehovah said to him, Why have you struck your donkey these three times? I am here, having come out as an adversary, because your way was unrestrained before Me.

耶和华的使者对他说,你为何这三次打你的驴呢?看哪,我出来抵挡你,因你所行的路,在我面前是邪僻的。
- 22:33 And the donkey saw Me and turned aside before Me these three times. If she had not turned aside from Me, I would surely have killed you just now and let her live.
-
驴看见我,就三次从我面前转开;驴若没有从我转开,我必早把你杀了,留它存活。
- 22:34 And Balaam said to the Angel of Jehovah, I have sinned, for I did not know that You were standing in the way against me. Now then, if it displeases You, I will turn back.

巴兰对耶和华的使者说,我有罪了,我不知道你站在路上阻挡我;你若不喜欢我去,我就转回。
- 22:35 And the Angel of Jehovah said to Balaam, Go with the men; but you shall speak only the word that I shall speak to you. So Balaam went with the rulers from Balak.
-
耶和华的使者对巴兰说,你同这些人去罢;你只要说我对你说的话。于是巴兰同着巴勒差来的首领去了。
- 22:36 And when Balak heard that Balaam was coming, he went out to meet him at the city of Moab, which is on the border of the Arnon, at the farthest point of the border.

巴勒听见巴兰来了,就往摩押城去迎接他;这城是在边界的尽头,在亚嫩河旁。
- 22:37 And Balak said to Balaam, Did I not send word urgently to you to call you? Why did you not come to me? Am I not indeed able to honor you?
-
巴勒对巴兰说,我不是急急的打发人到你那里去召你么?你为何不到我这里来呢?我岂不能使你得尊荣么?
- 22:38 And Balaam said to Balak, Here I am; I have come to you now. Am I able to speak anything at all? The word that God puts in my mouth, that I shall speak.
-
巴兰说,我已经到你这里来了;现在我岂能擅自说什么呢?神将什么话放在我口中,我就说什么。
- 22:39 And Balaam went with Balak, and they came to Kiriath-huzoth.
-
巴兰和巴勒同行,来到基列胡琐。
- 22:40 And Balak sacrificed oxen and sheep, and sent them to Balaam and to the rulers who were with him.
-
巴勒宰献了牛羊,送给巴兰和陪伴的首领。
- 22:41 And in the morning Balak took Balaam and brought him up to Bamoth- baal, and he saw from there the edge of the people.
-
到了早晨,巴勒领巴兰上到巴末巴力;巴兰从那里观看以色列营的边缘。
