- 23:1 Then Balaam said to Balak, Build me seven altars here, and have seven bulls and seven rams ready for me here.

- 23:2 And Balak did just as Balaam had spoken. And Balak and Balaam offered up a bull and a ram on each altar.

巴勒照巴兰的话行了。巴勒和巴兰在每座坛上献一只公牛和一只公绵羊。
- 23:3 And Balaam said to Balak, Stand near your burnt offering, and I will go; perhaps Jehovah will come to meet me; and whatever He shows me I will tell you. And he went to a bare height.

巴兰对巴勒说，你站在你的燔祭旁边，我要往前去，或者耶和华会来迎见我；祂指示我什么，我必告诉你。于是巴兰上到一个光秃的高处。
- 23:4 And God met Balaam, and he said to Him, I have prepared the seven altars, and I have offered up a bull and a ram on each altar.

神迎见巴兰；巴兰说，我预备了七座坛，在每座坛上献了一只公牛和一只公绵羊。
- 23:5 And Jehovah put a word in Balaam's mouth and said, Return to Balak, and you shall speak this.

耶和华将话放在巴兰口中，又说，你回到巴勒那里，要如此如此说。
- 23:6 When he returned to him, there he was, standing beside his burnt offering, he and all the rulers of Moab.

他就回到巴勒那里，见巴勒同摩押的众首领都站在燔祭旁边。
- 23:7 And he took up his parable and said, From Aram Balak brought me, The king of Moab from the mountains of the East. Come, curse Jacob for me; And come, denounce Israel!

巴兰便题起诗歌说，巴勒引我出亚兰，摩押王引我出东方的山，说，来阿，为我咒诅雅各；来阿，怒骂以色列。
- 23:8 How shall I curse whom God has not cursed? And how can I denounce whom Jehovah has not denounced?

神没有咒诅的，我焉能咒诅？耶和华没有怒骂的，我焉能怒骂？
- 23:9 For from the top of the rocks I see him, And from the hills I behold him. Here is a people who live alone And do not reckon themselves among the nations.

我从高峰看他，从小山望他；这是独居的民，不将自己算在万民中。
- 23:10 Who can count the dust of Jacob, Or number the fourth part of Israel? Let me die the death of the upright, And let my latter end be like theirs!

谁能数算雅各的尘土？谁能数点以色列的四分之一？愿我之死如正直人之死；愿我之终如正直人之终。
- 23:11 And Balak said to Balaam, What have you done to me? I took you to curse my enemies, but now you have altogether blessed them.

巴勒对巴兰说，你向我作的是什么事？我领你来咒诅我的仇敌，不料，你竟完全为他们祝福。
- 23:12 And he answered and said, Shall I not take care to speak what Jehovah puts in my mouth?

他回答说，耶和华放在我口中的话，我能不谨慎讲说么？
- 23:13 And Balak said to him, Come now with me to another place from which you may see them. You will see only the outside edge of them and not see them all; then curse them for me from there.

巴勒说，求你同我往另一处去，你从那里可以看见他们；你不能看见他们全部，只能看见他们营的边缘。你要从那里为我咒诅他们。
- 23:14 So he took him into the field of Zophim, to the top of Pisgah, and built seven altars and offered up a bull and a ram on each altar.

于是巴勒领巴兰到琐腓田，上毗斯迦山顶，筑了七座坛；每座坛上献一只公牛和一只公绵羊。
- 23:15 And he said to Balak, Stand here near your burnt offering, while I meet Jehovah there.

巴兰对巴勒说，你在这里站在你的燔祭旁边，等我往那边去迎见耶和华。
- 23:16 And Jehovah met Balaam and put a word in his mouth and said, Return to Balak, and you shall speak this.

耶和华迎见巴兰，将话放在他口中，又说，你回到巴勒那里，要如此如此说。
- 23:17 When he came to him, there he was, standing beside his burnt offering, and the rulers of Moab with him. And Balak said to him, What has Jehovah spoken?

他就回到巴勒那里，见他站在燔祭旁边；摩押的首领也和他在一起。巴勒问巴兰说，耶和华说了什么话？
- 23:18 And he took up his parable and said, Arise, O Balak, and hear; Listen to me, O son of Zippor:

巴兰便题起诗歌说，巴勒阿，你起来听；西拨的儿子阿，你向我侧耳。
- 23:19 God is not a man, that He should lie, Nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do it? Or has He spoken, and will He not establish it?
-
神并非人，必不至说谎，也非人子，必不至后悔。祂说话，岂能不作成？祂发言，岂能不立定？
- 23:20 Now I have received a word to bless; Since He has blessed, then I cannot reverse it.
-
我奉命祝福；神既已赐福，这事我不能翻转。
- 23:21 He has not beheld iniquity in Jacob, Nor has He seen trouble in Israel; Jehovah their God is with them, And the shout of a king is among them.
-
祂未见雅各中有罪孽，也未见以色列中有祸患；耶和华他们的神与他们同在，有向王欢呼的声音在他们中间。
- 23:22 God is the One who brought them forth out of Egypt, He has as it were the horns of the wild ox.
-
神领他们出埃及；他们似乎有野牛之力。
- 23:23 Surely there is no enchantment against Jacob, Nor is there any divination against Israel. Now it shall be said of Jacob And of Israel, What has God wrought!

断没有法术可以害雅各，也没有占卜可以害以色列。现在人论到雅各，论到以色列，必说，神行了何等的事！
- 23:24 See, a people rises up like a lioness, And like a lion they lift themselves up. They shall not lie down until they eat the prey And drink the blood of the slain.
-
看哪，这民起来仿佛母狮，挺身好像公狮；未吃野食，未喝被杀者之血，绝不躺卧。
- 23:25 And Balak said to Balaam, Neither curse them at all, nor bless them at all.

巴勒对巴兰说，那么你一点不要咒诅他们，也一点不要为他们祝福。
- 23:26 But Balaam answered and said to Balak, Did I not tell you, saying, All that Jehovah speaks, that I must do?
-
巴兰回答说，我岂不曾告诉你说，凡耶和华所说的，我必须遵行么？
- 23:27 And Balak said to Balaam, Come now, I will take you to another place; perhaps it will please God that you may curse them for me from there.
-
巴勒对巴兰说，来罢，我领你往另一处去；或者神喜欢你从那里为我咒诅他们。
- 23:28 And Balak took Balaam to the top of Peor, which looks down upon the desert.

巴勒就领巴兰到那下望旷野的毗珥山顶上。
- 23:29 And Balaam said to Balak, Build me seven altars here, and have seven bulls and seven rams ready for me here.

- 23:30 And Balak did just as Balaam had said, and he offered up a bull and a ram on each altar.
