- 44:1 And he commanded him who was over his house, saying, Fill the men's sacks with food, as much as they can carry, and put each man's silver in the mouth of his sack.

约瑟吩咐家宰说，把粮食装满这些人的袋子，尽他们所能带的，又把各人的银子放在各人的袋口；
- 44:2 And put my cup, the silver cup, in the mouth of the sack of the youngest with his silver for the grain. And he did so, according to the word that Joseph had spoken.

并将我的银杯，和那最年幼的买粮的银子，一同装在他的袋口。家宰就照约瑟所说的话行了。
- 44:3 As soon as the morning was light, the men were sent away, they and their donkeys.
-
早晨天一亮，就打发那些人带着驴走了。
- 44:4 When they had just gone out of the city and were not yet far off, Joseph said to him who was over his house, Rise up, follow after the men; and when you overtake them, say to them, Why have you repaid evil for good?
-
他们出城走了不远，约瑟对家宰说，起来，追那些人去，追上了就对他们说，你们为什么以恶报善？
- 44:5 Is not this that from which my lord drinks, and which he indeed uses for divining? You have done wrong in so doing.
-
这不是我主人饮酒的杯么？岂不是他占卜用的么？你们这样行是作恶了。
- 44:6 And he overtook them and spoke these words to them.
-
家宰追上他们，将这些话对他们说了。
- 44:7 And they said to him, Why does my lord speak such words as these? Far be it from your servants to do such a thing.
-
他们回答说，我主为什么说这样的话？你仆人断不会作这样的事。
- 44:8 See how we brought back to you the silver which we found in the mouth of our sacks from the land of Canaan. How then could we steal silver or gold out of your lord's house?
-
你看，我们从前在袋口里所发现的银子，尚且从迦南地带来还你，我们怎能从你主人家里偷窃金银呢？
- 44:9 With whomever of your servants it is found, let him die; and we ourselves will become my lord's slaves.
-
在你仆人中，无论从谁那里搜出来，就叫他死，我们也作我主的奴仆。
- 44:10 And he said, Now also let it be according to your words: He with whom it is found will be my slave; and the rest of you will be blameless.
-
家宰说，现在就照你们的话行罢。从谁那里搜出来，谁就作我的奴仆，你们其余的都没有罪。
- 44:11 Then each man hurried and lowered his sack to the ground, and each man opened his sack.
-
于是他们各人急忙把袋子卸在地上，各人打开自己的袋子。
- 44:12 And he searched, beginning with the oldest and ending with the youngest; and the cup was found in Benjamin's sack.
-
家宰就搜查，从最年长的起，到最年幼的为止，那杯竟在便雅悯的袋子里搜出来。
- 44:13 Then they tore their garments, and each man loaded his donkey, and they returned to the city.
-
他们就撕裂衣服，各人把驮子抬在驴上，回城去了。
- 44:14 And Judah and his brothers came to Joseph's house, and he was still there; and they fell to the ground before him.
-
犹大和他弟兄们来到约瑟的屋中，约瑟还在那里，他们就在他面前俯伏于地。
- 44:15 And Joseph said to them, What deed is this that you have done? Do you not know that such a man as I can indeed divine?
-
约瑟对他们说，你们作的是什么事？你们岂不知像我这样的人必能占卜么？
- 44:16 And Judah said, What can we say to my lord? What can we speak? And how can we justify ourselves? God has found out the iniquity of your servants. Here we are, my lord's slaves, both we and the one in whose hand the cup has been found.

犹大说，我们能对我主说什么？还能说什么呢？我们怎能表白自己？神已经查出你仆人们的罪孽了。我们与那在他手中搜出杯来的，都是我主的奴仆。
- 44:17 But he said, Far be it from me to do this. The man in whose hand the cup has been found, he will be my slave; but as for the rest of you, go up in peace to your father.

约瑟说，我断不能这样行。在谁的手中搜出杯来，谁就作我的奴仆；至于你们其余的人，可以平平安安的上你们父亲那里去。
- 44:18 Then Judah came near to him and said, Please, my lord, let your servant speak a word in my lord's ears, and let not your anger burn against your servant; for you are even as Pharaoh.

犹大挨近他，说，我主阿，求你让仆人说一句话给我主听，不要向仆人发烈怒，因为你如同法老一样。
- 44:19 My lord asked his servants, saying, Do you have a father or a brother?
-
我主曾问仆人们说，你们有父亲、有兄弟没有？
- 44:20 And we said to my lord, We have an old father and a young child of his old age; and his brother is dead, and he alone is left of his mother, and his father loves him.
-
我们对我主说，我们有年老的父亲，还有他老年所生的一个小孩子。他哥哥死了，他母亲只撇下他一个人，他父亲疼爱他。
- 44:21 And you said to your servants, Bring him down to me, that I may set my eyes on him.
-
你对仆人们说，把他带下来到我这里，叫我可以亲眼看看他。
- 44:22 And we said to my lord, The boy cannot leave his father; for if he should leave his father, his father would die.
-
我们对我主说，少年人不能离开他父亲，若是离开，他父亲必会死。
- 44:23 And you said to your servants, Unless your youngest brother comes down with you, you shall see my face no more.
-
你对仆人说，你们最小的弟弟若不与你们一同下来，你们就不得再见我的面。
- 44:24 And when we went up to your servant my father, we told him my lord's words.
-
我们上到你仆人我们父亲那里，就把我主的话告诉了他。
- 44:25 And our father said, Return, buy us a little food.
-
我们的父亲说，你们再去给我们买一点粮食来。
- 44:26 But we said, We cannot go down. If our youngest brother is with us, we will go down; for we cannot see the man's face unless our youngest brother is with us.
-
但我们说，我们不能下去。我们最小的弟弟若与我们同往，我们就下去。因为最小的弟弟若不与我们同往，我们必不得见那人的面。
- 44:27 And your servant my father said to us, You know that my wife bore me two sons;
-
你仆人我父亲对我们说，你们知道我的妻子给我生了两个儿子。
- 44:28 And the one went away from me, and I said, Surely he has been torn to pieces; and I have not seen him to this day.
-
一个离开我去了，我说他必是被撕碎了，直到如今我没有见到他。
- 44:29 And if you take this one also from me and harm befalls him, you will bring down my gray hairs in misery to Sheol.
-
现在你们又要把这个带去离开我，倘若他遭害，那便是你们使我白发苍苍、悲悲惨惨的下阴间去了。
- 44:30 Now therefore when I come to your servant my father, and the boy is not with us, and his life being bound up in the boy's life,
-
我父亲的命与这少年人的命相连。如今我回到你仆人我父亲那里，若没有少年人与我们同在，
- 44:31 When he sees that the boy is not with us, he will die; and your servants will bring down the gray hairs of your servant our father in sorrow to Sheol.
-
我们的父亲见没有少年人，他就必死。这便是我们使你仆人我们的父亲白发苍苍、悲悲惨惨的下阴间去了。
- 44:32 For your servant became surety for the lad to my father, saying, If I do not bring him to you, then I shall bear the blame of sinning before my father forever.
-
因为仆人曾向我父亲为这少年人作保，说，我若不带他回来交给你，我便永远在父亲面前担罪。
- 44:33 Now therefore, please let your servant remain as a slave to my lord instead of the boy, and let the boy go up with his brothers.
-
现在求你让仆人留下，替这少年人作我主的奴仆，叫他和哥哥们一同上去。
- 44:34 For how shall I go up to my father if the boy is not with me? I fear to see the evil that would come on my father.
-
若这少年人不和我同去，我怎能上去见我父亲？我怕看见灾祸临到我父亲身上。
